The board consists of the unions five fulltimers as well as eight additional board members. In the board, much of the strategic and operative work in the Social Sciences Student Union is being done. The work includes administration, communication, events, labour market matters and recruitment. Together, the board has employer’s resposibility over the fulltimers. The primary task of the board is to follow through on the Action Plan, which is decided upon each year by the Representative Assembly.
Other than this, the board also works with the student union’s recurring events and commitments. The board is responsible before the Representative Assembly and works preparatory with matters brought before the RA. Furthermore, the board decides on policies, by-elects student representatives on department level, assesses project plans and follow up on the student union’s operations, and, upon that, supports the fulltimers with day-to-day activities, such as dropins and similar. The board meets every two weeks, and in smaller working groups in-between board meetings.
