Motions and errands
Is there a point you wish to see raised during the Assembly’s meeting? In that case, you must submit this before the corresponding deadline. The following deadlines apply:
Motions – latest 22 September
A motion is a suggestion for a decision submitted by an individual member of the student union. It could propose something you want the student union to do, a new rule you want to implement, or an opinion you think that the student union should promote.
All motions that are submitted receive a written response by the Board of the student union. Therefore, motions must be submitted no later than 10 business days before the meeting, i.e. latest September 22nd.
We encourage you to follow the student union’s Motions Template. Make sure that your suggestion for decision, i.e. your move, is clearly stated. Send your motion to assembly.presidium@samvetet.lu.se
Discussions – latest 28 September
Is there something that you want the Assembly to discuss? Submit your question to the Assembly Presiding Committee (assembly.presidium@samvetet.lu.se) no later than 6 business days before the meeting, i.e. latest September 28th.
Your discussion point should have a clearly outlined question, and please include some background as to why you wish for the question to be raised.
Information – latest 28 September
Do you hold a position of trust in the student union, and want to inform the Assembly of something? Submit your information point to the Assembly Presiding Committee (assembly.presidium@samvetet.lu.se) no later than 6 business days before the meeting, i.e. latest September 28th. Large information points should be submitted accompanied by a written document.
Interpellation – latest 22 September
Members of the Social Sciences Student Union are able to direct formal questions, called interpellations, towards trustees of the student union, which they are then obligated to respond to before the Assembly. Interpellations must be submitted in writing to the Speaker of the Assembly (assembly.presidium@samvetet.lu.se) no later than 10 business days before the meeting.
Late errands
Errands that are submitted after the above-presented deadlines, may only be treated if a qualified majority of the Assembly agrees to it.
