Sarah "SK" Kurian
Graduate School Hej Hej! I'm super excited to candidate for the Representative Assembly again, we got so much work done in December! I'm a second-year student at the Graduate School and sit as Chairperson of our study council. I dedicate (far too much) time to working with the student union and Graduate School administration to better resource accessibility to our non-Swedish peers! I am passionate about student rights and advocating for international student voices. Vote for me to get some real change :)

Graduate School Hello there! I've been an active member of the student union for the past two years, both doing work on the Pluto study council and the BIDS Steering Group. I also participated in the last RA, an experience which I believe will enable me to participate in this upcoming RA with a degree of familiarity that would enable me to advocate for students' interests and contribute productively to improving the union.

Department of Human Geography Hi! My name is Kaja! I am a student in Human Geography with a strong interest in how social and spatial dynamics shape our experiences. I’m running (physically and spiritually) but mainly literally for the Representative Assembly to bring a funky fresh perspective, advocate for meaningful change, and ensure our voices are heard. I have been active in Lunds student life throughout my studies, for example as section president, student union presidient (SAM) and vice president of Lunds university student union Association (LUS).

Department of Human Geography My name is Claudia and I am a first year Bachelors in Development Studies international student. Currently, I am a student representative for both the Steering Group and the interdisciplinary studies section, PLUTO. To further advocate for my peers, I am seeking a position as a delegate on the Representative Assembly. Through open-mindedness, I aim to help in the decision making process that will improve the student, particularly international student experience.

Department of Political Science Hi everyone, I’m Zaïnab Amrhar, a second year Master's student in Welfare Policies and Management. I am candidating for the Representative Assembly as I am deeply passionate about student welfare and social justice. I believe that an engaged student community is essential for creating a positive student experience, and I aim to participate in ensuring that student voices are heard and valued. As the assembly plays a vital role in addressing issues and making decisions on matters that directly impact the students, I strive to bring new and diverse perspectives to effectively represent the student body.

Graduate School My name is Tessa and I am currently in my second semester of a Bachelor in Development Studies. I wish to take part in the important work of the Social Science Student Union and help advocate for our rights as students and the quality of our education. Through this, I want to promote equality, freedom and justice for all students as well as the local and international community. Department of Sociology of Law I have been active in the Union for the two years that I have been in my Master's program. I am active because I care about advocating for students and ensuring that we have power to have our voice heard when the university makes decisions. I have been in the Representative Assembly in the fall of 2024 and am excited to continue the work being done at the assembly in spring 2025. I take the role seriously as an opportunity to represent students and ensure that the issues we care about are also represented.

Department of Sociology Hi, my name is Alma Malmberg. To start off I want to say that I love Samhällsvetarkåren and its members. As a two-time mentor, I am experienced enough to understand what the new students want and their motivations within the Social Sciences Student Union. Being deep into my studies (3rd year) I am also experienced within preparation sheets for important meetings or in more scholarly terms seminars. As a French person, I have a lot of opinions and seeing as that is what is needed within the RA, I hope to bring those to light and make necessary changes to what needs to be changed. |

Graduate School I am a final year student in the MSc of Social Scientific Data Analysis at the Faculty of Social Science. I am candidating for the Social Science Union’s Representative Assembly because I think it is important to be engaged in student life and educational politics at Lund University. I believe student voices and opinions are important in shaping the best student experience. I have previously held positions as a student representative and engaged with student associations throughout my whole university life. School of Social Work Hello! As student representative for the second-year CPS-masters in Human Ecology I wish to represent my programe at the RA, also this year. Important issues to me are student well-being, academic freedom of speech and the accessibility of channels for political influence of students to the university. Additionally, I would really like to have something done about the freeezing temperatures at the micro-villa. Department of Political Science My name is Mattias and I want change. There’s an obvious problem with how the Student Union is run at the moment. Hardly half of the roles of the Board and Committees are filled. There are almost never any bigger events for all Student Union members, and if there are, these events scarcely gets communicated to all members. The Union is supposed to strive for the words “Social” “Education” and “Career” but as of now, I, as a member, feel like I get nothing out of being a member of the Union. Instead of simply switching to LundaEkonomerna I want to help the Union in the right direction, and maybe we’ll have a bigger and better Samvete afterwords. My name is Mattias and I want change.

Department of Human Geography I’m excited about the opportunity to join the Representative Assembly and contribute to the Social Sciences Student Union in amplifying student decision-making. With experience in non-profit organizations, event coordination, project management, and stakeholder collaboration, I’ve worked closely with community-grounded initiatives that craft a sense of place and belonging in my native Minnesota. Here, I organized large-scale civic celebrations through the Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District and served on the Streets.mn nonprofit board, amongst other contributions. I’d love to bring this experience to the Assembly to help foster a sense of voice within the student community!

I wish to candidate for the representative assembly as I am deeply passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, especially for international students, and believe that a supportive campus is key to everyone’s success. At the same time, I believe strongly in sustainability—ensuring that our efforts to create an inclusive community also contribute to environmental sustainability. Department of Political Science Hi! My name is Ella Målberg and I am currently finishing the third year of my Bachelor in Development Studies, majoring in Political Science. I believe that all students should feel seen, heard and represented, and that achieving this leads to better quality education for all. I want to take part in the representative assembly because I want to take a more active part in the decision-making process that affects us students, to be able to be part of the process that ensures that decisions are made with all students in mind, with diverse perspectives considered. Emily Wudie Jonsson
Department of Political Science Hey there, I'm Emily! I am a student doing the 3rd year of my bachelors in Development Studies and majoring in political science. It took me a while to get here since I took way too many gap years traveling and exploring the world but also, myself (cringe I know). I've always had a real passion for social movements, climate justice, anti-racism, feminism, empowering people with all abilities, lgbtqia+ rights - the list goes on. But one of my favorite engagements is within student organisations, as well as student and workers unions. Through my years at Lund University I have been very involved in many different organisations but always had the social science union in the back of my mind. I have recently done a training in my workers union Seko which has reignited my interest in joining the student union and given me a good skillset to work with. I’m excited about the chance to run for the Social Science Union. I’ve always been driven by the idea of creating positive change, and I believe that starts right here in our own community. I want to use what I’ve learned about social justice and development to make sure every student feels heard and represented. My experience in social movements has shown me how powerful collective initiatives can be, and I’m eager to bring that energy into the union to push for a more inclusive and supportive environment for all of us. Fun fact about me, I guess in my free time I love spending time with my friends ideally in the nature, hiking, camping, kayaking - you name it! But I especially enjoy jamming some groovy tunes on the saxophone with my beloved band. Hope to see you around! 
Edvin Norberg
Department of Political Science My name is Edvin. I’ve been a member of the Social Sciences Student Union since 2023, but during my time in Lund I’ve had a hard time getting a personal connection to the union. It’s a great place for student- university matters, and for raising questions in regard to the education, however it’s difficult to navigate in what the union does otherwise. I believe that the union can do a lot more when it comes to reaching out and communicating with its members. With that comes social activities, being present at intro-meetings for new students and various career events to help improve students time at Lund University, and make it easier for the average student to become involved with the union and influence their education. Instead of choosing another path in Lund I believe it’s my time to take action and get involved in the union and its survival in Lund. |
