Election and counter-candidacies The election errands of the Fulltimers and the Board are to be held at the election meeting of the Assembly on March 25th. All ordinary members are welcome to participate and offer their thoughts on the candidates. More information about the Assembly election meeting can be found here on the website. If you wish to counter-candidate to a position with a nominated candidate, you must counter-candidate no later than March 17th, by sending an email to [email protected]. State clearly in your email to which position you wish to counter-candidate, and include a presentation of you as a candidate. The nominating council hereby announces the positions of trust at the Social sciences student union at Lund university for the operational year 26/27. Applications are open until the 2nd of April.
Are you, or someone you know, perfect for one of the union’s positions of trust? Candidate, or nominate a friend! The positions you can apply for are: - Full-timer (4) - Board member (8) - Committee generals - Chairperson and vice chairperson of the education committee - Chairperson of a study council (9 study councils) - Student representatives at faculty and department level - SFS-FUM delegates - Auditors - Election committee - Nominating council A link to descriptions of the different positions, as well as a post registry, can be found here! In order to candidate to an internal position of trust, you have to fill in this form! And in order to candidate for a student representative position, you fill in this form! Please note that participation in Assembly meetings is only mandatory for Assembly members, and Board members and full-timers of the Social Sciences Student Union. Assembly members are asked to please confirm their attendance by responding to this email. Election Meeting – elections for the upcoming year The Social Sciences Student Union Assembly conducts elections for the upcoming academic year (2026/2027) in two special Election Meetings. The 1st meeting, taking place on 25 March, will see elections to the student union’s full-time positions and Board member positions. The Nominating Council has announced the opportunity to apply to these positions, with the deadline March 4th. The 2nd meeting, taking place on 25 April, will see elections to the student union’s other internal positions of trust and to student representative positions at the Faculty of Social Sciences and its departments. Nominations & counter-candidacy The Nominating Council will announce its nominations for the 1st Election meeting on March 11th. If you thereafter wish to counter-candidate to a position with a nominated candidate, you must counter-candidate no later than March 17th, by sending an email to [email protected]. State clearly in your email to which position you wish to counter-candidate, and include a presentation of you as a candidate. To any position without a nominated candidate, one may candidate on the spot at the Election Meeting. Rules of the meeting The meeting will be held with English as the working language. All members of the Social Sciences Student Union have the right to attend Assembly meetings, and partake in the discussions. Those constantly co-opted also have the right to make moves in the meeting (propose amendments), with the exception of Inspector and Pro-inspector. Assembly members hold the right to vote when the meeting goes into decision. For more information about the rules in place for Assembly meetings, see the Policy for Assembly Procedure. Agenda and documents Agenda and documents for the meeting will be sent out to Assembly members and constantly co-opted 5 business days before the meeting, March 18th. The meeting documents will also be made available for all members on the Social Sciences Student Union’s website. Motions and errands? During Election Meetings, only election errands for the upcoming academic year are treated. Do you have a proposal or initiative you want the Assembly to discuss? In that case, your next chance to raise your errand will be at the next ordinary Assembly meeting taking place on May 13th. Submit your motions or interpellations no later than April 28th, and send your discussion points or information points no later than May 5th. Send your errand to [email protected]!
