Solomiya Markiv
Department of Psychology

My name is Solomiya Markiv, and I am currently taking independent courses in psychology. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Strategic Communication from Lund University. I would like to be part of the Assembly because I have a strong desire to contribute and help shape the future of the Social Sciences Student Union. I am passionate about representing students and working towards decisions that benefit the union as a whole.

During my time as a student at Lund University, I have been active in several student associations and engaged in various committees. These experiences have given me valuable insights into student involvement, but I have lacked the opportunity to participate in decision making at a broader level, something I believe the Assembly can offer. I am eager to take responsibility, particularly in important matters such as the election of board members, and
to contribute to selecting leaders who can inspire and move the union forward. To me, it is important that the Social Sciences Student Union continues to develop into an inclusive and innovative space for all students.

As a person, I am inclusive and goal oriented. I value ensuring that all voices and perspectives are heard, and I am happy to take responsibility in collaborative environments where shared commitment is crucial. I look forward to the opportunity to work together with other dedicated students to further develop the Social Sciences Student Union.

Hi! My name is Wilma Engkvist and I am currently studying BIDS with a major in sociology. Besides my studies I am currently a board member at the Social Sciences Student Union, previously to this I was the Vice Event Coordinator. During my time as a board member I have been a part of writing motion responses to the current assembly. I also have an understanding of the unions inner workings and want to utilise this in the highest desicion making organ of the union as well as challenge myself with this new experience.

Sociology of Law

Hi, I'm Moi and I'm a student in the Sociology of Law Masters programme! I'm running for this position because I'm passionate about student rights and fighting for what matters to students. I have experience in this area too - at my old university (Durham University in the United Kingdom) I was a sabbatical officer at the university's student union and I fought for several things such as mental health, cost of living, increased access to libraries and study spaces, etc. If I was elected here, my focus would be on listening to your interests and representing them in assembly and I would want to incorporate as many voices as possible in my advocacy.

Veronika Kletečková
Department of Political Science

Hej hej hallå! My name is Vero and I would love to be a delegate to the Assembly 2026/2027. I have started my studies in Lund back in 2020, and have been active in the union for the past 4 years (on every position from RA delegate to a fulltimer a year ago!). I would like to keep helping the union grow in a sustainable manner, so that it can be the best version of itself for all social scientists from Malmö all the way to Helsingborg. If you want to keep talking about study spaces around the faculty, hit me up!

Sociology of Law

I am a current board member for the year 25/26 and want to continue to serve the union. I want to be a part of and influence the important decisions made by the union again. I was in the Representative Assembly so already know how the Assembly functions and am ready for the responsibilities of the role.

Hello! My name is Elin, and I am currently studying for a Master’s degree in Welfare Policies and Management. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology of Law. Alongside my studies, I have been engaged in a student nation, where I worked full-time as ProQurator ekonomi in 2025. Elliot Borgstrand
Department of Political Science

My name is Elliot Borgstrand, and I am running for the Assembly because I want to help ensure that the Social Sciences Student Union remains a strong, active, and member-driven organization. Student influence matters, and I want to help make sure our union speaks clearly for its members and works to improve the education and study environment for all students at the Faculty. I bring extensive experience from my time as a full-timer and board member of SAM, which has given me a strong understanding of the union’s work.

Linus Kihl
Department of Political Science

My name is Linus and I’m in the final year of BIDS, I was involved with the Board during 25/26 and would still like to be part of the Social sciences student union for the next year! As a member of the Assembly I would like to work for the Union to work more with the program associations, and lift questions relevant to our students.

Toufan Farhani
Department of Political Science

Hi! I'm Toufan and I'm currently studying my master's in Welfare Policies and Management. I've been involved with the student union in some form for a few years now and was an assembly delegate for this past year. I hope to spend next year improving on the skills I've built up during my time at the union and continue to represent student's interests.

Rain Andersson
School of Social Work

I believe in the power that comes from students organising things together. It is this belief that has kept me going as a student representative at Socialhögskolan (School of Social work) for both the institutional board but also as a representative for my semester. I have worked to ensure students are heard and listened to on all levels and to ensure we students get quality education. This value in engagement and organising has also been fueled by my previous experiences in youth democracy organisations, both on the municipality and regional level. Lastly, I have also been previously active as a representative of the Assembly because I want to make sure that we as students also have a union that will reflect what is important to us.

As part of the Assembly I would like to continue promoting engagement among students, interest in student’s questions and spread interest in utbildningsbevakning so that we students will have good quality education.

Sultana Mariam
Department of Communication

I am a motivated and engaged student with a strong interest in student representation and leadership. My goal is to strengthen the voice of students and contribute to meaningful change within the union. I am committed to addressing key issues such as academic pressure, access to resources, and the overall quality of education. In addition, I aim to contribute to the development of a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable study environment where all students are provided with equal opportunities to succeed.

Saga Petersson
Department of Political Science

Hi! My name is Saga, and I am running for the Assembly. I have been active in the Social Sciences Student Union for almost three years. I started my engagement in one of the sections, and last year I had the opportunity to work full-time within the union, which gave me valuable insight into both its daily operations and long-term goals! I have a good understanding of how the union works and many of its upcoming challenges. Next year a new full-timer structure will be put into place, and I think it would be the perfect time to become an assembly member!

Timea Bács
Department of Political Science

My name is Timi, and I am a first year student in the Master of Science Programme in Welfare Policies and Management. I have been active in the union for around three years now, and this has been my second year as an assembly member. I am interested in student rights, especially education monitoring, and I would like to continue my work with the union. Next to student rep positions, I believe the assembly is the best opportunity to make an impact and represent your fellow students.
